Blind with a sight

It was a troubled morning. Unable to keep time with the silent clock.

The early morning duties were done, and a tasty breakfast of dosais and sambar was relished.

Waving a quick ta ta to  my wife at the gate, I was hurrying to catch my bus and get my  regular window seat.

Everything seemed okay, till I wanted to check the minutes to the run off,( as that is how the driver of the mini bus, gets us on) that I realised that I had forgotten my glasses, to make sure I checked on the bridge of my nose.

The hospital work was ok at the gross level, till I had to write, the large fonts and the extra large prints went on smooth with a few wrinkles on the brow.

Then came the small O.P.  numbers, after getting paly with the patient, with the checks and investigations with my large oval writing, I cooly asked them to read out their numbers.

All of them would have diagnosed my case.

Lest it  re-happen as it already did, I have gotten a spare spectacles at that drawer.

Good to have the focus on.

Expressive slogans between expansive shoulders

While going outside, there are many things that catch ones eyes, a bill board, a dress on a person or a handicraft through a window on display, what has been noticable these days , is a thought stimulating,or a beat skipping  line on a Tshirt.

I just got to see a few and had the guts to ask them for a snap, there were more , but these are for now., railway stations, buses and walk outs.

It is rare to see a double of the same words, i sometimes wonder if they are of the a la carte, type and printed to order.

Lived to teach and share

There was this maths teacher we had in Montfort school for the higher classes, called Mr Macedo, ( he could never get to pronounce my name and the closest he could get, was a switch to  badword pathy.)

His wife Mrs Macedo was our teacher for English in the 3 rd standard, to whom most of us in our class owe our literary gifts to, she was later awarded  a Good Teacher ribbon roled Honour.

I got a memory of this couple when I saw a movie Titled “wwjd woodcarver”.

Many an Anglo Indian family has left the shores for greener pastures, and these wished to stay as they found the climate of environment good and the people around too.

I never got around maths, so I got special attention with the chalk pieces aimed at me with a flick of the thumb and the mid finger, or a knot of the hair and a click on the head, what ever, the numbers just did not get right when they came through my  fingers.

I remember An elegy written in a country church yard, “ Many a flower is born to blush and waste its sweetness in the desert air”.

No flowers are ever a waste, they bloom where they are to bloom, and share their sweetness to those around.

When bad boys could be good boys

It sure has been some time since I reviewed a movie, I was touched today seeing one.

Battle fields are every where ,but never in peaceful America, until professionals and sincere ones do things with a passion.

If one could make quotes , the whole movie except for that " oh man u are cool" could be made so.

A community centre could heal wounds, or be a place for confessions, but this one became a dance hall and more.

A buisness tycoon  gets to baby sit  the normal kids with difficulty, and falls for them and their care taker.

Was honestly touched, even though I could have thought the dances were like fights, and our fights are like dances.

A trek up a hillock

It was again one of those lazy sunday afternoon, and i suddenly had a thought why not a trek.
A water bottle and a towel and a carry on bag, it was 4 some thing on the clock, i left home.

There is a small hillock near our village and a temple at the base, i had a wash and asked for blessings
for the trip up at the deity there.

For the city dwellers this would be a shock, to see no people, just raw existence,i went along the zig zag paths, loosing it at places to find new ones opening up, and up the hillock to the farther end all stony and thorny.

Sat down for some time and had some egg sand wit

ches and watched the sun going down.

The return was very peaceful, it would have been more fun to have had some of u along.
