Of all the inventions brought on by man in the food industry, the one on the top is white sugar, everything else is only secondary to it.
To make man take his nutrients, Mother Nature in her creativity added sweetness to her colourful range of fruits, along with a variety of tastes and shapes, to suit with the seasons and geographic sites.
Man in his present cunningness has removed just the sweetness and discarded the rest, retaining pictures of the colours and curves, for illustrations on cartons and packages, of his cooked cookies.
The bitterness of white sugar is a topic which in a generation to come, many may take up for thesis study, how we got duped into accepting it as a nutrient, with no value.
White sugar is sucrose, which is half glucose half fructose. High and quick absorption of glucose brings on diabetes mellitus, fructose with no fibre brings on fatty liver, insulin resistance, and metabolic syndrome.
It is a pity, we in this profession are kept away from secrets of this kind, but brought in to handle the curing of ailments which trigger them.
I remember in our grannies house, a child was refusing a breakfast of idies and sambar, the lady of the house got some white sugar, mixed a few spoons into the sambar, like magic the breakfast was over.
Every one is an individual as far as health is considered, we cannot inherit, acquire, steal, save or pass it on, it is an everyday awareness.
We have had wonderful masters to teach, may we pass it on, but first practice it on ourselves.
