A stylish beauty with courage

It was closing time for the college, all the staff and students were filing out, the portico was busy.

With a small twist of the neck, the tuft of hair hiding the beautiful face was shifted, sending waves of magnetic attraction to all those
around who could notice.

There was this graceful one with a blue and pink costume hugging her petite figure , she carried herself with grace, aware with each
step like a precious vase pregnant with fragrance , not to be spilled.

The high heels of a shade of chocolate carried her sweetness across the large hall which was belittled with her presence, more could be typed by her fan.

But these are enough to let an artist know she is noticed, admired adored and appreciated for her style, grace and courage.

Mother Nature would have come down to see her creation if she knew, and so these words......

Tearing away with tears

A date was fixed for the parting and postponed, and timing fixed and lengthened, i was wondering why, until i saw the farewell.

It was the final day for our kid at the college and the batch was dispersing,it seemed just like a shift to another home, until all the things were packed and it was time for the waving.

There was a moment of jealousy in the mind when I could see how he has been won over by many a rugged one with soft hearts and cool eyes.

They had been together for 4 years and they must have shared many a struggle and moments of euphoria in closeness we can imagine like ours.

It was too dark and Mother Nature too was very solemn and shared her part in the parting with a slight drizzle.

These are the ones who are going to carve the world of tomorrow, for themselves and for the future.

Wishing them all a bright future, with togetherness and understanding.

Blind with a sight

It was a troubled morning. Unable to keep time with the silent clock.

The early morning duties were done, and a tasty breakfast of dosais and sambar was relished.

Waving a quick ta ta to  my wife at the gate, I was hurrying to catch my bus and get my  regular window seat.

Everything seemed okay, till I wanted to check the minutes to the run off,( as that is how the driver of the mini bus, gets us on) that I realised that I had forgotten my glasses, to make sure I checked on the bridge of my nose.

The hospital work was ok at the gross level, till I had to write, the large fonts and the extra large prints went on smooth with a few wrinkles on the brow.

Then came the small O.P.  numbers, after getting paly with the patient, with the checks and investigations with my large oval writing, I cooly asked them to read out their numbers.

All of them would have diagnosed my case.

Lest it  re-happen as it already did, I have gotten a spare spectacles at that drawer.

Good to have the focus on.

Lived to teach and share

There was this maths teacher we had in Montfort school for the higher classes, called Mr Macedo, ( he could never get to pronounce my name and the closest he could get, was a switch to  badword pathy.)

His wife Mrs Macedo was our teacher for English in the 3 rd standard, to whom most of us in our class owe our literary gifts to, she was later awarded  a Good Teacher ribbon roled Honour.

I got a memory of this couple when I saw a movie Titled “wwjd woodcarver”.

Many an Anglo Indian family has left the shores for greener pastures, and these wished to stay as they found the climate of environment good and the people around too.

I never got around maths, so I got special attention with the chalk pieces aimed at me with a flick of the thumb and the mid finger, or a knot of the hair and a click on the head, what ever, the numbers just did not get right when they came through my  fingers.

I remember An elegy written in a country church yard, “ Many a flower is born to blush and waste its sweetness in the desert air”.

No flowers are ever a waste, they bloom where they are to bloom, and share their sweetness to those around.

When bad boys could be good boys

It sure has been some time since I reviewed a movie, I was touched today seeing one.

Battle fields are every where ,but never in peaceful America, until professionals and sincere ones do things with a passion.

If one could make quotes , the whole movie except for that " oh man u are cool" could be made so.

A community centre could heal wounds, or be a place for confessions, but this one became a dance hall and more.

A buisness tycoon  gets to baby sit  the normal kids with difficulty, and falls for them and their care taker.

Was honestly touched, even though I could have thought the dances were like fights, and our fights are like dances.

Forgive? hmm , Forget? NO

The silent memorials at the Japanease cities of Nagasaki and Hiroshima, show that the Japanese have not forgotten the bombings.

Remembering the 6th August as the day of the atomic dropping is a thing that cannot be forgotten and needs to be studied.

What really gets me wondering is how did the two countries get to patch up after that dropping.

With the things in the archives coming out and shut up mouths talking and other things, truth of the bombings are surfacing, we know the rushed up scientists and developers wanted to see the actions of the inventions and the power of the beholders.

The forgiveness!  Japan must be some society to have that compassion, and to continue to do trade and exchange program mes, in spite of seeing the destruction, with the chromosomal anomalies still occurring after 67 years.

The scientists have been duped with their inventions being put into destruction.

With every commemoration they must be silently crying where they are,as with the present scientists who see theirs being misused.

May we learn from the past mistakes for a safe livable planet.

A garbage dump for holy pictures

Many a new picture of holiness and soul satisfying contour, gets to be added at home or work stations, and where will the old pictures go?

hidden at dark corners,
left standing where they are,
sent away to praying spots,
but never thrown away .

This is what has happened to this pyramid , it seems to attract many a picture that has served the family for soul support, mental health or preventing an insanity and more capacities of well being.

I who seem to find this pyramid a place of wonder , find this a garbage dumping ground of nervous wrecks who are scared of hurting dieties or too guilty of themselves to throw away, yet not throw away, a family heritage.

I am reminded of a zen story , when a master was found burning a wooden statue of Buddha on a cold night , and scolded, he was then looking for the bones of Buddha

in the wood.

What ever it is a disgrace to destroy the sanctity of the pyramid with our holy pictures, which do not belong there.
