A client or a customer

 Your patient is your patient, he/she may go elsewhere for a second opinion, but will always return to the fold, for your care and concern.

It is impossible for someone else to steal your patient, you may lose your patient, but they never get stolen.

Recently I have been reading about colleagues expressing the woes of dwindling out patients, and that Nature and their God's have forsaken them, and that they need to be wooed back and win favours, with special prayers and sacrifices.

We in the health care must remember, that when the crowd in the out patient is scanty, our patients are all well with our treatment, if not it is an insult to our professionalism, our patients are always sick, or repeatedly prone to sickness.

We are in a profession that is an art and science, and our patients are our clients, not customers.

Now either way, as a patient or a doctor, what is the cadre..... A patient is a client or a customer  ?

Dictionary does not see a difference in both the words, client receive our services, customer receive our goods.
